The business of football blogging
This page contains the basic terms under which the network and member blogs operate. If you’re interested in starting your own blog with the FM network or bringing your blog into the network, please read these terms first and use the form at the end to pitch your proposal to us.
Football Media is a community of the best football sites online. The network is run by experienced marketers, bloggers and online entrepreneurs. We know what it takes to create successful football websites (see Soccerlens) and we want to help you do the same with us.
Football Media’s guiding principles:
Ownership
You own your website / blog and you are free to enter / exit the network without any restrictions.
Support
Football Media provides technical, marketing, writing and administrative support as well as web hosting on a “needs” basis - so if you need any help just let us know we would be more than happy to help.
There is a members’ forum that you can use to talk to other network members as well as ask questions and get support if you need it. In addition you’ll be able to contact support directly on IM / email for urgent matters.
Blogger Responsibilities
When it comes to building a top-notch website, we want you to give it your best shot when you’re working with us because we’re aiming to build a quality network and for that both sides have to work hard. We’ll do our bit (and you should hold us accountable when we don’t), we ask you to do yours as well.
Money
You keep 100% of the revenues from the ads that you display on your website. We don’t take a single penny from what you’re earning. We will work with you in optimizing your site to help you earn as much money as possible (without hurting the readership, of course).
However, in order to fund the network’s operations, we will be showing two types of ads on member websites.
The network will have at least one and at most 2 ad spots above the fold on each website / blog. You can an example of such ad spots on Soccerlens (the top two of the 6 ads in the sidebar above the fold are network ads) and Red Rants (the top ad is on a network spot).
We also show Vibrant Media’s Intellitxt advertising on our network sites - these ads may earn little per blog but across the network they have the potential to earn a good sum for the network. These are also network ads and the revenues will be used the same way as discussed above.
